Winners: Sam Allardyce the manager of West Ham (C) celebrates victory with captain Kevin Nolan (l) and goalscorer Carlton Cole

Sam Allardyce had the last laugh on West Ham’s owners as their team sealed a last-gasp route into the Premier League.
Ricardo Vaz Te struck just three minutes from the end at Wembley to send the Hammers up. And the jubilant West Ham manager Allardyce said: “It is 49 games and the first time we have won in the last few minutes all season.
“David Sullivan is always going on at me saying ‘Why don’t we ever win a game in the last minute’ and now we have, so I am sure him and David Gold will be very happy.”

    Big Sam Slam

Sam Allardyce hit out at the West Ham fans who did not believe in him as the club celebrated promotion back to the Premier League.
Ricardo Vaz Te fired home the winner with three minutes left at Wembley.
But Allardyce said: “You get criticised everywhere. There is a small minority of West Ham fans who make themselves heard, but the majority are behind us.”

Back in the big time: 'We deserved it,' says West Ham goal hero Vaz Te after play-off victory

87 mins - GOAL! VAZ TE! Nolan gets free down the left and puts in a cross that takes a slight deflection. Cole battles and the ball comes back off Gilks. There is Vaz Te to coolly lift the ball into the roof of the net from eight yards.

48 mins - GOAL! Oh dear oh dear. Cole needlessly gives the ball away on halfway. The diagonal ball is similar to Taylor's from Matt Phillips. Ince gets in behind Reid and finishes low across Green and into the net. Good finish. Avoidable goal.

    Kevin Nolan

35 mins - GOAL! COLE! Taylor creates it by winning a challenge and making it down the left. His initial pass is cut out, but he collects the ball after it ricochets off Martinez. The No14 lifts a pass over Evatt for Cole, who controls superbly with his right foot before steering the shot past Gilks from seven yards. West Ham lead at Wembley!
